A short introduction.

Mumbai-born, New York-based software engineer. I build distributed systems and AI infrastructure by day. By choice: photographing nature, chasing new places, and building things I don't strictly need — because curiosity is how I've always learned best.

First job at Barclays. Learned that when payments fail at 2am, "it usually works" is not a valid SLA.

Moved countries for grad school at NYU. Stayed for the work, the chaos, and the kind of energy that only exists in a city that refuses to be finished.

The person

I grew up in Mumbai — a city that makes you comfortable with noise, density, and systems that shouldn't work but always do. That probably explains my engineering instincts more than any textbook.

Moving to New York for grad school was a deliberate bet on discomfort. New city, new country, new everything. I learned more in the first six months than in any comparable period I can remember. Still here, still learning.

Outside of engineering: I photograph nature — the light at dawn, a forest after rain, trails where silence is the only signal. I travel to places that feel nothing like anywhere I've been. And I build things I don't strictly need, because that's still how I learn best.

Looking for places that feel completely different from anywhere I've been. Moving countries once makes the next unfamiliar place feel like opportunity rather than risk.

Reading

Systems design, distributed computing, and the occasional non-technical book where nobody argues about eventual consistency.

Side projects that start as "let me understand how this actually works" and end up in production. Still the best learning method I've found.

Served as Chapter President and competed through area and district levels — winning accolades at both. Most engineers treat communication as an afterthought. I treated it as a skill with the same rigour as distributed systems: practice reps, deliberate feedback, measurable improvement.

Community Volunteer 2025 – Present

CKAD NYC '26

Helping engineers get certified in Kubernetes.

Currently volunteering with the CKAD NYC '26 community — supporting engineers preparing for the Certified Kubernetes Application Developer exam through study sessions and mentorship.

Reminded that curiosity is the real prerequisite.

Served as mentor and judge at the TerraNYC STEM Fair — evaluating student projects and working with the next generation of engineers and scientists.

Predicting loan defaults

Built a machine learning pipeline to predict loan default risk, competing against teams across India.

Azure DevOps Hackathon

Browser extension for CI/CD control

Built a Chrome extension that surfaces Azure CI/CD pipeline controls directly in the browser — trigger builds, check status, and manage deployments without leaving the page.

Finalist

Bhopal Smart City Hackathon 2.0

Smart city infrastructure

Selected as a finalist in a national-level smart city challenge.

Professionally

5+ years building production systems — financial-grade Kafka at Barclays, then data and AI infrastructure at Experian. M.S. Computer Science from NYU. I apply distributed systems rigour to AI: the correctness guarantees, the operational discipline, the infrastructure thinking.
